IEEE ETFA 2018 Special Sessions
IEEE ETFA2018 will include special sessions on highly focused topics reporting technical trends and breakthroughs within the scope of the conference. Special sessions are organized at the initiative of one or more individuals, who must adhere to the following guidelines:
Proposing a Special Session
If you would like to organize a special session, please prepare a proposal using this template and send it in PDF format to the Special Session Co-Chairs, Lucia Seno (email@example.com) and Lukasz Wisniewski (firstname.lastname@example.org), by the Special Session proposals submission deadline.
An individual can be co-organizer of up to two special sessions.
Organizing a Special Session
Once a proposal has been approved, organizers must:
- Prepare a Call for Papers using this template.
- Publicize the special session and attract quality papers among researchers and practitioners.
Papers submitted to special sessions will undergo the same review process as regular papers. Organizers are responsible for organizing a peer review process, ensuring at least 3 review reports per paper are received.
Conflict of Interest (CoI)
Before starting the review process, organizers must declare papers which present a CoI for them. A CoI arises in situations where judgement of a paper quality cannot be insured solely on the basis of technical content of the paper (judged authors close colleagues or papers authored by organizers). To ensure independent reviews, these conflicts must be marked as such in the submission system and Special Session Co-Chairs notified so that they can arrange the reviews of such papers.
